About Me

Growing up I can remember always having a camera in my hand, whether it was during one of my family vacations or just my friends and I hanging out, I was always snapping photographs. In high school I took a photojournalism class and it was during that time that that I really became fascinated with all aspects of photography. Now that I have two children of my own, I truly realize the importance of preserving memories for generations to come. Documenting life as it happens is what it's all about for me. Capturing the smiles, tears, joy and those special moments that come and go so quickly. New babies, first teeth, true loves... no matter what it is, I can help you preserve those memories forever. My customers are the heart of my business and I will go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied with your photography session experience.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Scott for 10 years and we have 2 beautiful children, Brady is 8 and Kacey is 5. We also have four crazy dachshunds that are always providing endless laughs. In my spare time I love to cook, hang out with my kiddos, and shop. I'm always snapping photos of my kids and dogs and love to shoot nature photography when I can.

Your Session

Sessions are done on-location at your home or your favorite outdoor spot. Outdoor locations can provide some of the most beautiful and visually exciting environments to capture your special memories. I can recommend several locations if you don’t have one.

Your session will be tailored to meet your family’s needs and timeframe. My goal is to create a wonderful experience for everyone and make you feel comfortable. Please allow and plan for approximately two hours of time for your session. This will ensure that I am capturing the best possible images in a relaxed setting.

MacFarland Photography suggests pre-planning your wardrobe before the actual session date. Solid colors are highly recommended, since prints are busy and distracting in a photograph. For families and large groups, try to keep your complete wardrobe within a range of three colors. If you are unsure about your choices, please contact me and I will help you decide.
